Critiquing Panel announced (see below) and we've got a news article to pimp here


Yes, it is true! After much demand, the Manip Challenges are back! AND this time we're not stopping at that! One week after the challenges, we'll be holding a critique event. But it's not ordinary critiquing that will be going on there, we want to try and bring the manip and resource communities closer together and therefore, we're holding a "get your stock critiqued by those who are supposed to use it and those whose stock has been used plenty of times already"-event Please read more below!

We're holding our Manip Challenges in the #ManipulatedReality chat room on Saturday, April 12th!

Date: Saturday, April 12th 2008
Time: The first Challenge starts at noon EST (i.e. New York time - that's 5pm London time, 6pm CET (Berlin, Rome, Paris time), for more time zones please look here: [link] ) - there will be at least 3 challenges, each lasting 2 hours with breaks in between, so if you can't make the first one, just pop in later and join the fun! All times are daylight savings times already

Prizes: the 1st place winner of each challenge receives a 1 month subscription! If you'd like to donate some exclusive stock or something else as prize, please contact ^lyastri who will be in charge of this event!

Don't forget to credit the stockers properly! Also, if they say you need to link them to your finished piece, you need to send them a note or leave a comment yourself - we are not going to do this for you! If you don't know what that means, please read: Working Together - not against each other

A panel of photomanipulators, mixed media artists and stockers will be there to give you extensive critique on your stock for 2 hours - afterwards we'll have an open discussion so everyone can get a word in on the subject.

Time: The Critique Event starts at 2pm EST (i.e. New York time - that's 7pm London time, 8pm CET (Berlin, Rome, Paris time), for more time zones please look here: [link] ) - the discussion will start at approximately 4pm EST (9pm London, 10pm CET).


The panel of critiquers includes:
=Cutteroz, `Elandria, =cryingsorceress, $FallenRox, ^Nico1 as well as *moonmomma & *kayceeus (time permitting)

During the critique event, those who want their stock critiqued can promote themselves to WAITING and from there they will be promoted to ASKING in the order they promoted themselves before (you may want to come a bit early because of that). Please have your thumbcode ready along with any specific questions you'd like to see answered! Only the critiquing panel will be able to give their answers directly in the chatroom, however, everyone else is more than welcome to leave a comment on the deviation. Keep in mind that rudeness and critique are two different things!

The discussion afterwards will be open to everyone - please also keep in mind that there is a difference between being honest and being rude! Harrassing remarks will not be tolerated!

If the event is a sucess, we'll probably hold another one in the future.
