This account serves two purposes: #1 to inform you about everything going on with the chatroom #ManipulatedReality and 2# to inform you about what is going on here on deviantArt within the genres of Photomanipulation and (to a degree) Mixed Media.

Manip Challenges on Saturday!

We're holding our Manip Challenges in the #ManipulatedReality chat room on Saturday!

Date:Saturday, October 13th 2007
Time: The first Challenge starts at 6pm CET (i.e. Berlin time - that's 5pm London time, noon New York time, for more time zones please look here: [link] )

Prizes: the 1st place winner of each challenge receives a 3 month subscription + an exclusive stock pack from *kuschelirmel-stock (the packs can be found in her scraps)!

Don't forget to credit the stockers properly!
Also, if they say you need to link them to your finished piece, you need to send them a note or leave a comment yourself - we are not going to do this for you!

Photomanipulation

Photomanipulation is the art of combining pictures and making them blend together - it's the art of altering reality, if you like

Projects by deviants for deviants

`seniormentors is a project where some seniors of dA offer to mentor a new deviant to help them with their art and find their way around dA. More information can be found in their journal.
`memod and a few other wonderful deviants have started a critiquing project - you can submit your deviations to it (they have to adhere to ceratain criteria though) and they will leave you in depth comments. More can be found in memod's journal.

Photomanip Tutorials?!

If you're looking for tutorials for photomanipulation, there's a list in our Photomanip FaQ [link] - so far it covers mostly material for Photoshop, so if you know great tutorials for other programs, please leave a comment or note this account.

#ManipulatedReality

The room is a place to chat about photomanipulations, get helpful critique, share experiences or find a partner to do a collaboration with.

Mixed Media & Stock/Resources artists are also most welcome!
We hope to provide a chat room where honest critique will be given to those who want it. Also we hope to make the communication between stockers and manipulators better by giving them the opportunity to talk about what the other party needs or would like to see.

Chat Rules

Generally, we do not have many rules, we mainly ask you to be polite when joining the chat. Other than that the usual dA chat rules apply. But we also have a more extensive set of rules for those who just need everything spelled out or who just like to be sure what is okay and what is not. You can find them here.

Who are you?!

We're just a bunch of photomanipulators and mixed media artists who like to have a good time hanging out on dAmn together. The "Fantastic Four" (otherwise known as the founders) are $chix0r, ^cosmosue, ^kuschelirmel and `nighty. We get helped out by a team of Operators, namely ^lyastri, *Moniquette, =DesiredAdoration, =Cutteroz, =cybergranny and =lindowyn-stock (so far) who will be glad to help you. They will also keep an eye out for people who just don't know how to behave themselves in public.
